I meant this to be some sort of portrayal of an asexual/non-asexual relationship based more on conjecture

Aaaaah so I wish I could temporarily steal Eva's comment-abilities because this is really, really good and I think I lack the articulation to thank you enough for it?

I almost did that thing where you point out all the bits of a fic that were like YES, YES, THIS - but then that was maybe half as long as the fic itself and, well.

I will pick one: Arthur ends up spending the night. He tells Francis he needs some more time to think about things, really think, and that he's not sure he understands all of it. But by the time they're finished talking (and they don't only talk about sex; somehow the conversation meanders to movies and high school and where they thought they'd be by now)

Just - that, yes. This, I think, is everything that lacks in most ace!fic? That, yes, there's an inherent split between what each partner wants sexually, but... relationships are about things that aren't sex, too. I could kiss you for this most-of-a-paragraph alone, lmao.

Of course, the rest of the fic rocks too! It's really perfectly paced, and characterized, and everything. :)

As for that one bit, I haven't read much ace!fic, so I was sort of going off, I don't know, feelings and personal experiences and wishful thinking and sorts of things. But honestly every relationship is about more than just the name of that relationship (i.e. a sexual relationship is more about sex) because there are two people in it and so...??? I'm not sure where that thought was going but I think it could have been cool.
