Back then, when I wrote this, I found it incredibly hard to do some of the passages, so I kept reassuring myself that the *real* John wouldn't do something like that and that it was only in Sam's head. So, yeah, I guess hallucination it is. *nods*
Yeah, actually that was something I forgot to mention too, you're one of the best writers of JOHN I've seen too! I think you got his personality nailed right on the head, and since we saw very little of the actual GUY, that's really fricken amazing. You ACTUALLY got his personality and UNDERSTOOD him..just by listening to the boys and goin off their experiences with him..do you know how talented you are? ;D
Well, to be really honest... writing John in character isn't that hard if you ask me... All you have to do is make him act human and not totally bastard- or saint-like... But you are right, if you want to get close to how he must have been, you have to listen to what the boys say about him (apart from the obvious hate/worship-thing they have going) and, what I find even more important, you have to look at how the boys turned out to be, how they behave and interact with others. You can't become such nice and respectful adults if your only living parent is a total ass. I'm not saying he was a saint (he SO wasn't!) but he did a lot of good to them. Too bad fandom, or a large part of it, choses to ignore that, but I guess if they can't even get into the heads of the two main-characters then I shouldn't be surprised they can't handle a "sidekick", right? Anyways, before I start picking on everything I don't like in the fandom (again) I guess I should stop... ;)
Thank you so much, that really means a lot to me! :)
