Ok, so I found a new love tonight! Snowboarding! Dude, the kids totally dragged me out tonight on a ski trip and they got me on a snowboard. After hearing how hard it is to go on one, I was a little nervious, but I thought - hell I better give it a try. So a couple of the high schoolers turned me into their project - they were great. WHile they're awesome snowboarders, they took the time to get me going. Well now I'm hooked. . . I actually made it down the hills just fine. Fell quite a few times but as for someone that has never been on a snowboard, they said I did REALLY well. First we started on the bunny hill and I was falling all over the place, so the kids told me to just go on the chairlift and down a run and it would be easier. (yea right I said to myself, they just wanna watch me fall and laugh at me). But they were right! I went up the chairlift and I did just fine, of course Jackie made the guy turn off that chairlift which was a little embarassing, but I guess it helped for my first time. So then I went down. . . I really was getting the hang of it, just kinda inching down from the top, heels back. Got a little faster towards the end. I did a few nice face plants - ouch. . . But no broken bones! Best one I did though was I totally did a front flip and all I remember was tucking and rolling and next thing I knew I was on my back! Which means the board totally flipped around over my head - the kids thought I was dead. Crazy. . . So now I'm all pumped and want to do more - sad thing is unless I find someone to go with on my own, that was probably my last park trip to a ski hill since I'm in Florida for the next two trips. But, then I'll be diving - so it will be all good.
So now my three loves that I can't get enough of now are snowboarding, waverunners, and scuba diving! What a diverse choice of things to do - not to mention all expensive hobbies - oh well so go life.
OK - so now back to reality, I'm really behind in my class now - so I gotta majorly catch up tomororw - with two papers due! Yikes, bad Mike. . . I really like being a bum right now instead of after I retire. . . The way I look at it too, I have a lot of people telling me that I am just going to ruin my early retirement but I'm looking at it as I'm gonna do the really crazy stuff while I'm young because when I retire I'm gonna be too old to go out and do some crazy stuff. . . If I waited til I was 65 to snowboard, I'd probably kill myself for real! So I've decided one more year of fucking off at least!
Yea for life!
Peace out,
Mike
