I too like A/G. I've read some of the Youtube and IMDB comments criticizing the couple and Angel in particular. I'm so glad to find a site where the people like this couple. I have no trouble accepting the story line between Gwen and Arthur. I think Angel is a beautiful actress and I love the way she portrays Gwen--as kind and brave and wise. The episode in Season 1 where Gwen is imprisoned and scheduled for execution, she finds a way to accept her fate with grace and courage. I was so impressed with that scene. In the scenes with Arthur she portrays her love and attraction combined with reticence and fear (it is after all a dictatorship and Uther could just as easily have her beheaded for looking twice at Arthur). Despite her love, she knows she cannot be queen and has to deal with those feelings. I absolutely don't see her as unable to make up her mind between men. She meets Merlin who's cute but clearly not a love interest. Then there's Lancelot--who's so gorgeous-who wouldn't like him but then he's gone. And then there's Arthur, the future king-the one on whom everyone's hopes are pinned and she's watching him mature and learn and become humble and act bravely and then suddenly, he's in her space & because she is brave and wise she speaks truth to power. And Arthur, who likes people who stand up to him (e.g. Merlin) begins to notice her. When he kisses her (in The Once and Future Queen) it was like a whim. After the kiss though, Arthur and Gwen look at each other with the dawning realization that they love each other. It could not have been more natural or beautiful. The second Lancelot episode followed shortly afterwards. I think that part of her response is reflective of her situation. Arthur has just told her that she has no future with him. She finds herself in a prison with no expectation of aid from Camelot. If I were in that predicament, I would be attracted to a noble knight who said he would try to get me out of that situation. And, if one listens carefully to her words, she never tells Lancelot that she loves him; she tells him words to keep his spirits up and to set him back on a good path, rather than one of self-destruction.

As regards Bradley's churlish remarks about Gwen, which I've heard in some youtube videos, I think they are really misdirects. He seems to have a sort of sarcastic sense of humor and people fixate on the words and miss the overall picture.

Sorry I went on so long and thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts in a friendly forum. I could not post such thoughts on IMDB or Youtube for fear of nasty trolls. Keep writing your wonderful stories. :)

I love your evaluation of the Arthur/Gwen relationship. I too am tired of the trolls. I think Angel's beautiful. Not in a loud sort of way but in a quiet, noble way. It always pisses me of to hear that people think she's ugly. I guess that shows that people show their ugly sides on the internet.

Camelot_love is a great place to discuss thoughts as well as some people's livejournal pages. Everyone there is a fan of Arwen so you never have to worry about being attacked!

Thanks so much for reading and don't ever be afraid to discuss here if you wish!

Argh, just made the mistake of watching a video on youtube--why people don't like Gwen. Arggh! who are those idiots. It's like we're not watching the same show. So I had to come here immediately to post my response. First of all, I can't figure out Bradley. I think he's being sarcastic/ironic in his comments and yet if I were Angel, I might be tempted to belt him. She didn't think Knight Valiant was "fit" that was Morgana. She did like Lancelot but in Series 1 Arthur had not declared his feelings for her so she was free to be attracted to anyone she wished. That's not being slutty or a hussy, that's being human. Arthur was chasing anything in a skirt in Season 1, where are the comments calling him slutty. Answer, not there because he's a guy and that's expected. Besides Gwen never told Lancelot she loved him--not in Season 1 or in Season 2. Now to see her respond to Arthur, that's where you see the love. She walks on the edge of death every time she shows her feelings or expresses her opinion to him and yet she does it, because she cares enough to try to help him be the best person he can be. And she shows her love, with her eyes whenever she can. Okay, then they start to worry about whether Gwen is showing enough affection to Morgana, whose nightmares she has soothed, whom she has served graciously and well for what appears to be years. And then, in the Witches' Quickening, Morgana just snaps at her. Yes she's worried about Morgana, but Arthur has her heart.
And then, the writers are ragging on her because of the Lancelot and Guinevere Episode how she allegedly hurt Arthur. I think he hurt her with the "I only came because Morgana begged me." Yes she was nice to him when she was imprisoned as Morgana and when they were about to die in the cage with the Wirin. Yes, she took Lancelot's hand to get out of the window. And when he left the camp and her, she knew that he knew she was in love with Arthur and that she had hurt him. She said as much, in "Sweet Dreams" that she had hurt others too.
Thank you again for letting me vent. I should know better than to watch such tripe.
I hope you post more stories.

Thanks! I will be adding more chapters to some of my preexisting stories soon.

In regards to your comment. I believe people are entitled to their opinion and what not, but there is no need for them to get so nasty. That's why I stay away from the youtube comment sections. It's all Bradley fangirls and some Merthur fans who come and try to insult not only Gwen, but the woman playing her. Honestly, what has she ever done? From all the interviews I've seen she's a really nice person. Bradley's a guy so he's bound to say something stupid every now and again. There was an interview where he said he wanted more attractive girls to come to camelot. I was thinking 'what if Angel happens to read this??'

It makes me so angry sometimes, but then I remember that she's beautiful and wonderful in her role. Not everyone is going to like you especially when there are both jealous and racist people out there. You can't win over everyone. I just hope she knows she has adoring fans who love her and think she's brilliant. That's all anyone can ask for really. The rest of them can just snuff it for all I care.

Tripe indeed.
