Quick Downton Abbey Post
I am totally in love with Downton Abbey! I usually hesitate to watch period dramas, because I have trouble relating to some of the characters sometimes. I don't think I've ever watched a TV show set during World War I and, being a history buff, it was really cool to see certain events like the Titanic and the assassination of the archduke being discussed by the main characters.
Another thing I really love about this show is the main characters. My favorites are Mary, Sybil, Cousin Violet, Matthew, Mr. Bates, and Anna. I usually gravitate towards the really kind characters (though Mary is kind of haughty). There are also soooo many ships to choose from (MATTHEW/MARY is my fav, of course).
It's a short series, with about 7-8 episodes per season and beautifully acted and written. I'm so glad I finally got around to watching it! It makes me kind of forget the disappointment I felt at season 4 of Merlin.
Anyways, anyone who is in the least bit interested in the show should check it out!
