Call me Late, always Late

Firstly, WOW, my second real post in a week!

Secondly, lately it seems like I'm always running late somewhere. I don't know what happened. I was so punctual for the whole semester. Now for the last week, and especially the last 2 days, I am NEVER where I need to be when I need to be there!

Case in point: Yesterday I was meant to drop Jess at school, then go to roque's for a study session. Well, she was late, therefore I was late. Then, I was meant to drop an assignment to uni and then be at work by 3pm at Korowa where I pick up the little boy I babysit. Well, by the time I printed out my assignment at Roque's and realised that it hadn't printed properly, emailed my tutor to explain, and drove to uni, it was 2.45. I literally sprinted all the way from the carpark to the 4th floor of Menzies, scribbled a cover sheet, submitted my assignment, and sprinted back to my car, getting there at 2.53pm. Record timing, I reckon. But not good enough. By the time I drove up Princes Highway to Malvern East and finally got to Korowa, it was 3.15. And to make matters worse, it was their final day of Year 12 so there was NO parking with all the parents attending the stupid graduation service! I didn't get inside till 3.20pm. That was bad. Very very bad. Pick-up is at 3pm sharp. At 5 past the kids get sent to after-care, and you have to pay for after-care, and my boss DOES NOT want her son in the aftercare. LUCKILY the lady was really nice and said that since I picked him up so quickly she would white-out his name as if he hadn't been. But anyway, by the time I got the kid back to the car, it was 3.30pm, the time when I was meant to be in Ormond at Kilvington picking up his sister. ARGH! So drove there as fast as I could, but didn't get there till 3.45pm. The poor girl was standing there with this crushed look on her face, the last one there - she thought I had forgotten about her. Well, at that point I could finally take a breather, as I took them home, made them their snack, and read them a story. At 4.45 though, it was German school time for the girl, so back to the car we trudged. Once I got back with the little boy, he stuck in a movie as per usual and I finally collapsed on the couch till 6.40 when his mum came home. Who ever said babysitting was easy? lol

Case in point 2: Today. Let's just say I overslept. A lot. To an hour so ridiculously late, that I won't name it. I guess I was just a LITTLE tired. Point being, I got up 10 minutes before I had to drive off. This called for emergency measures. Shower post-poned till this evening. Breakfast Brunch cancelled except for a nutella sandwich scarfed down as I drove. Drove 3ks over the limit the whole trip to uni. Finally ran into the arts office 6minutes after my appointment time with the course adviser. I breathlessly tell the lady that I had an appointment at quarter past, sorry I'm a bit late. She tells me the girl who was for half past went in before me. I say I'll wait. After all, there's still 40min till my meeting for the German research project. So I sit. And wait. And wait. And wait. Finally at quarter to the course adviser finishes with the other girl and takes me in. Well, I had a lot to talk about with her, lots of questions to ask. We didn't finish until 20 past. Then I came out and saw my friend from German so I asked her a couple of questions about the culture exam. Long story short, I didn't get to my Research Project meeting until half past. ARGH! Luckily it went overtime so I was still there for about 45min, a respectable period of time. But ARGH! So frustrating!

So my plan for tonight? Revel in the joy of not having to be anywhere. And study for my German exam which I am otherwise going to fail on Thursday. Thrilling!

PS. Actually, I just realised I still haven't eaten anything other than that Nutella sandwich. I should really go get some dinner!

late, rant
