you know what's annoying?
seeing typos of my native language in Vietnamese restaurant reviews/recommendations. even Jonathan the great has made one with his recent review of nem nuong khanh hoa (link). yes, it's khanh, not kanh. not to worry JG, you can hire me anytime to proofread the Vietnamese words.
the latest typo that spurred this entry is the spelling of "bahn mi" in Gridskipper's guide to Vietnamese food in the OC (link). this list bites. what's worse about Gridskipper's restaurant lists? they seem to rest easy with scouring reviews on Yelp (and the likes) instead of doing the due diligence of research (i.e. actual taste tests).
you know what else is annoying? reading "ethnic" reviews that are just wrong. that's about as bad hearing some frat boy trying to school me about the "bombest and most authentic" pho joint in k-town that serves his favorite kimchi pho.
