in my book,
bravotv is kicking butt in reality tv lineup. i used to be an mtv baby (guilty, i know) and indulged in road rules, real world, rr vs. rw challenges, laguna beach, etc. granted, i still watch 'the hills' and the occasional inferno. but lately, it's been all about bravo tv. here are some comments / news on some of my favorite bravo shows:
work out
news (or not) for those who watch:
'work out' trainer doug blasdell unexpectedly dies at age 44he was my favorite for his caring and compassionate nature. if i had the money, i would love to have doug as my trainer.

project runway
i love tim gunn and am super happy that he signed the contract for season 4, which will premier in the 4th quarter of 2007 (
link). he's also the new chief creative officer for liz claiborne and cautions men to not go there with pleats ... "it makes you look like you're wearing a diaper". oh tim.
for tim gunn fans living in la, he will be at the LA FIDM museum shop (that's where lauren goes to school) on april 27th to promote his
new book. q&a starts at 11:30a, and book signing is from 12-2p.

top chef
nothing new to report except i'm happy that sexy padma is the host instead of season 1 i-have-no-real-kitchen-cred host.

top design
this show has a lot of potential, but it needs to do the following:
1. get some new judges or send the current 3 to camp. or better yet, have them shadow any of the judging teams from project runway / top chef / shear genius. imho, the chemistry is lacking.
2. find a new catch phrase. "see you later decorator" is not working for me.
3. do something (now!) for todd oldham. he's nice and no longer as stiff (compared to the first episode) but still ... how do i say this nicely ... awkward.
p.s. does anyone buy the "i'm married with kids and totally straight" routine from matt? i know it's not just me.

shear genius
loves it! good host(ess), jiving judges, and smart catch phrases. i especially dig michael carl's sharp tongue (watch out michael kors -- you're not the only bitch on the block anymore). just read his blog i tell you.
it's too early for me to have favorites. but i look forward to the brewing drama. just look at the contestants. we have the-crier evangelin ("hair is life" *tears*), she-will-kick-my-ass tabitha, i'm-cute-yay theodore, edward-scissorhand-twin tyson, and i'm-straight-but-rene-is-hot-and-i-wear-lipgloss dr. boogie.
