you really do get what you pay for ... especially when it comes to hair services.
two months ago, i chopped off about 8 inches of my hair and opted for an above-the-shoulder bob. yes, you read it right: 8 inches! long layers no more. instead of going to my usual cheap vietnamese places where the stylists push layers on you (whether or not you want them), i opted for an upscale (read: expensive) salon in studio city. the stylist did a great job on the bob (hey it rhymes!) and color (it wasn't dark enough, i thought, but still good). it was a wise decision to go here since i wanted such a drastic change. $160 later, i walked out a satisfied woman.
today, i was at the vietnamese salon in lil saigon and thought that i should get a little trim. half an inch wouldn't hurt, right? i mean, this was only maintenance. all you have to do is basically follow the same haircut and take off 1/2" all around. anyway, the guy did such a horrible and sloppy job. my hair is uneven and doesn't have that natural fall to it like before. what's worse is that he basically cut the outside shorter than the inside. THAT IS NOT A HOW A BOB SHOULD BE!!! along the way, he was trying to convince me to get layers! what the heck? even though it was $18, i was and still am pissed.
j's usual guy did a sloppy job as well. you would think that after cutting it for the last 6 times, he would get it right! anyway, i am never coming back there unless i want uneven hair or layers and lots of it (no thanks).
i was trying to save some money with maintenance. but now i have to pay more to fix the mistakes. *sniff*
