holy smokes ---- i just got a promotion at work!
from an excel-monster / layout-extraordinaire of a project manager, i've been bumped up to a supervisor position that entails real management and leadership skills.
how the heck did that happen, especially in such a big corporation?
effective tomorrow, i will be responsible for a group of employees, their productivity, performance, outcomes, etc. this is scary!

remember the beta fish that i had who died a few weeks after i brought it home because i couldn't effectively manage his tank? well, i hope that this situation has a different ending.
anyway, the moral of the story is to be nice to everyone. after all, your subordinate today could be your boss tomorrow.
