The Masked Ball Wedding

Oct 21, 2005 13:09

Here are pictures from the wonderful masked ball wedding we attended last Saturday at the Phelps Mansion in Binghamton, NY. Aren't the bride and groom lovely? And extremely nice and talented (the bride, Erika, makes great masks, she made the one she's wearing, and Daniel's and David's as well). The gals we were photographed with were delightful ( Read more... )

Just stumbled in from miss_mortisha's journal (just call me raven_nightmares_nosiness_incarnate) and I just wanted to say...what beautiful photos. Looks like a wonderful evening...and you're right, 1940's face sums it up perfectly. You all look amazing. *sigh...what it is to be beautiful...

Best wishes to you, and to the happy couple.

Thank you! That's fine, I'm a bit on the nosy side myself! The wedding was truly enjoyable, certainly one of the most individual ones, and the people were really nice. Yes, Sabrina has quite a face, she looked like she stepped out of the 1940s. It's funny, you see certain people whose looks dont really match the time they're living in, they look like they belong in a different time.

But again, thank you, I love meeting new people!

This is true. I had an MRI of my head/neck once...and the only time I have seen a skull quite like mine was in the neolithic section of the natural history museum!

It really is lovely to meet you. miss_mortisha has told me a lot about you in the past. I must also add, I think your artwork is superb. You certainly do have a good eye for those little things that bring a figure to life.

Oh, stop! Dont tell me you drag your girlfriend around by her hair and carry a club and eat raw meat!

Thank you for your kind words. I am proud of my work (now, if some more people would BUY some of it would help!), I love to do portraits. And I still fret whenever I start one, I STILL worry that I may not capture the likeness.

Again, nice meeting with you, feel free to gab away?

I also grunt and have an undeniable urge to wear leopard skin...although whether that's to do with my skull or not, I hate to think ;)

Now you see, this is why I prefer photography...there's less worrying involved ;)

And gab I will. Would it be alright for me to add you to my friends list?

Yes, of course, add me to your list. I did some snooping myself, you're a good photographer, and quite handsome too, if you dont mind my saying so.

I don't mind you saying in the least, although I fear it brings your taste into question ;)

Thank you...you have now been added.

I've been told I have very good taste. Sheesh, why do I meet so many beautiful people who are DOWN on themselves? Anyhow, thanks, I love making new friends.

I'm afraid it is all the fault of the gorgeous people such as your good self. Your sense of style and sheer sexual charisma leave us common folk with unattainable expectations.

Me, gorgeous? I dunno. "Attractive", maybe. Billy Zane falls into the "gorgeous" category, IMO. You made me blush! But thank you. And I still think you're very handsome. Ah, youth! I'm nearly 50.

Now, I can sort of understand Billy Zane...but only the Memphis Belle Billy Zane. Sniper Billy Zane and Twin Peaks Billy Zane take more...imagination, I guess.

As for 50...haven't you heard? Age is the new Youth.

Oh, I came across this and nearly drooled onto my keyboard:

He was quite lovely in "Orlando" (great film) and "The Phantom".

MEOW!

Well, I'd say that Sean Connery at 75 is STILL infinitely sexier than most of today's "hunks", or should I say "boys"?

Now Orlando I haven't seen...I'll have to look it up.

Hmmm...not sure about Mr Connery, but I would say that Anthony Hopkins shouldn't be forgotten - never underestimate a Welshman...apart from Tom Jones, of course. And I suppose Harrison Ford's getting on a bit now as well. He was the reason I'm doing classics at uni - it's the closest I could get to becoming Dr Jones.

I'm not big on Anthony Hopkins, I find him somewhat overrated and hammy. I always found Mr Connery incredibly sexy, I'll refrain from more scabrous thoughts about THAT! Funny you should mention Tom Jones, David and I are going to see him in concert on November 13. We saw him 2 years ago, and grandpa is a pro. He came out on time, still belts 'em out, and looks like someone you could have a good time with.

Someone you could have a good time with?? Best not to ask...I'll just wait for the newspaper articals ;)

Overrated and Hammy...hmmm...Have you seen Titus? I guess in some ways I like a bit of ham. It goes well with (wait for it) fava beans and a nice chianti....

Well, I mean Mr Jones is very personable, like someone you could just sit down and have some drinks and a good talk with. And of course, I'm sure a number of ladies had more than a few drinks and a nice chat with him. Elvira did.

Now "Titus", as in "Andronicus", by Mr Shakespeare? That is a gruesome, gruesome play, his first isnt it?

I dunno, I find Tony Hopkins kinda hammy. I thought Jodie Foster's performance in "Silence of the Lambs" to be the finer performance, I thought Hopkins was too "obvious".

I did have the pleasure of meeting VINCENT PRICE, about 27 years ago, in his one-man show as Oscar Wilde. He was wonderful, and very fan-friendly. I was dumbstruck. When he died, I felt like I had lost my lover! I always loved the horror actors. For the most part, a very classy breed.
