27 today!
and i have had a good day so far. i woke up at a friend's place after a few early birthday drinks, and trying to stay young by drinking whisky at 5am. but i still managed to walk home from new town to marchmont, then convince my sister that it was still a good idea to walk up Arthur's Seat. i had no problems, but Katie struggled but she was proud that she made it. then she took me shopping and now im waiting for Joanne to take me out for dinner. i do feel spoiled
but now for the really cool thing, last night i got to handle the only sword to have beaten Rob Roy in a duel which in the end caused his death
the sword belonged to a Charles Stuart, and the duel took place during 1732. the backsword is amazing, and in great condition. Paul got hold of it because the owner (a descendant of Charles Stuart) wanted some restoration work done, and now Paul has also traced Rob Roy's sword and plans to bring the two back together for the first time.
