The Chronicles of a Flatmate: The Beginnings

well it all started a few months back when Charlie had to move out for a job up north and recommended her uni friend Laura to take her place. i had met Laura a few times but not enough to feel like i knew her, but we took her on anyway feeling that someone who is just started working as a teacher must be decent enough to live with.....that's right she's a teacher, teaching the next generation.
at first it was just confusion in conversations, but i started to pick up that she wasn't actually understanding or should i say comprehending what you would say to her. so the chat became less and more direct, because any attempt of conversing would end up in repeat and explaining and it was just stop there

September 30th, 2006: A Classic- i decided to cook a roast, my style. which is beef coated in lemon, oats and pepper corn with a cream sauce (its very nice). i manage to get most of the ingredients on the way home, and when i do im unpacking and Laura is preparing for a jog and asks if i need anything while she is out. now i did need things, but thought 'could she handle this small request' i figure well its not a big list, she should be fine so i write it down
1x Lemon
Lemon Juice
Carrots
Potatoes
Double Cream
that was it, i even read it out to her so she couldn't mess things up. she walks out the door and about 4secs later she knocks to be let back in. here is where the Laurism happens, she starts questioning the list, by asking "umm, whats lemon juice?" "ummm.....errr, what?" is all i could come up with. "well what is it?" "its the juice/liquid that comes out of a fruit called a lemon, it is sold in bottles" i explained, slowly. "OHHHH, you mean that Cif cleaning stuff" shown here

"what the hell? no its for cooking with, its in a wee green bottle and a yellow cap so just ask someone for it"
so about 45mins later she manages to find her way home and i ask if she found the lemon juice alright, which she had but still had to get someone to find it for her. but what really made it special was that instead of double cream, she got 2
