I finally got around to updating about Dawn coming out to see me. It's been almost two weeks but it seems like just yesterday...

First off, let's give a little backround about Dawn ...

She and I met in one of my acting classes during college. She was a very quiet, introverted, cute girl who always sat by herself, talking to noone. After awhile, she opened up and started becoming friends with us. Over time we started to have feelings for each other but she had a boyfriend, who I was determined to break her up from. She and two of her best friends met me and a bunch of my best friends down at Seaside one weekend and that's when we hit it off. She was finally single, she was with her two best friends, my crazy fucks of friends and me. We spent the weekend together doing things that, to this day made that weekend one of the best weekends of our lives. We came back after that weekend and dated for a few weeks but things didn't work out so we just remained friends.

To this day we stayed friends, talking online, emailing each other, etc...Dawn was going through a rough time, as was I when she IM'd me one day and I jokingly told her to come out here for a weekend. The next day she asked me if I was serious and I thought about it for a second and said yea. She made plans to come out and she did.

She got out here on a Thursday afternoon so I picked her up at the airport. We came back to my place, hung out and talked for a little while then took a quick nap before we went to the club where I would perform. Jen and Jeremy came and picked us up and we headed to the club. I performed, we drank, joked, I almost got into a fight but Matt had to save me...again....then we left and came home.

The next day we didn't do much...we headed to the mall, the streets of Woodfield and just sort of hung out around town all day. That night I we had a bbq with Mandy, Jen and Jeremy. Then a bunch of my friends showed up. We all sat around drinking and eating and joking around..just having a good time.

Saturday we went to the city. We took the train down and walked around looking at the Sears Tower, Chicago River, Navy Pier and Michigan Ave which is like 5th Ave in NYC. The whole day in the city was just laughing on top of laughing. From me tripping on everything, almost getting sick on the train, getting lost, looking at a busload of Amish people walking around Navy Pier, me making fun of everyone and everything, Dawn saying random funny shit which surprised me because she's always been so quiet.....It was just a great day. We came home, took another nap and hung out the rest of the night.

Sunday we didn't do much. I cooked breakfast around 2:00...then we went to see the Elk over in Elk Grove. I know, we are so from NY. We spent the rest of the day just joking around, talking and laughing.

Monday we went out to lunch with Jen and then I took Dawn to the airport.

I was really sad to see her leave but I realized again, even though she's gone, the memories will last a lifetime.

The things we did, the things we saw, the things we said.....I can't describe how much fun it was. We both changed so much in the past couple years since we first met, however, the important things that keep us who we are, remain.

It started out Dawn coming out here for a mini-vacation. A chance for me to make her laugh and take her away from the problems that plagued her in NY but it ended up being the opposite. I don't think I've laughed or smiled more in my entire life. From the moment she got off the plane, to the moment she got back on the plane and even when she was ON the plane text messaging me about her flight....I was laughing or smiling.

We both just had an amazing time....we both realized a lot about each other and ourselves that will help us in life.

I learned that no matter how far away you are.....your friends are there too.
