Sometimes I think WAY too hard about things.
So I bought and am playing Zelda: Minish Cap for the GBA. It's a relatively good game but I keep getting stuck on stupid stuff. I walk up and see a small vine. Someone gave me a jar and mentioned I need to use it to go forward. I remember that earlier in the game, there are gnomes working on a potion to make plants grow better. I remember one of the gnomes in the shop mentioning that he needed milk in order to finish working on the plants. So I proceed to spend probably 3 hours on the airplane going all over the world trying to find milk. I figured I would either A) Use my jar on a cow to get milk or B) Go to the bar where a lady is drinking milk (and mentions she's hungry, so I probably needed to give her food). I go ALL over the place looking for either milk or food, but find nothing. I revealed TONS of secrets that I probably wasn't supposed to find until later in the game. But no way to make that vine grow.
So I check an online guide:
"The thing you have to do is swinging with the bottle at the water (south) and filling it. Then release the contents on the bean that has yet to grow, and voila! It grows instantly! Perfect."
So it's as simple as that. Use jar on water right next to plant, pour on plant, plant grows.
So now I feel partially stupid. But realistically, if there's a lab where they grow plants, and they need milk which I'd fill up in a jar that I was just told I needed to use the jar to go forward, why wouldn't I think that's the way to move forward in the game?
I won't even mention how I spent two hours on the flight up north looking for a way to get onto the mountain. Three guards blocked the ways out of town. The first two I talked to said "You cannot proceed", so I just ignored the third guard. Didn't even dawn on me that he says "Okay, I'll let you through". Idiot.
