an introduction

Hello
My name is Mike and I'm from Sao Paulo, Brazil. I was born here, but i've lived in others places like the States and Argentina. I most like to play guitar, write lyrics, do some computer stuff, and listen to music. I guess i'll post lyrics-in-progress here. Here's a bit of one, it's a song i wrote with my friend fabio:

I'm probably too late and out of luck
But my front pocket's full of hope
I wanna call you in half and hour
And invite you for a drink of coke

But I can't pick up the telephone
Fear of Rejection's my enemy
I Can't even dial your number
Butterflies taken over me

Chorus:
Now you're on a date with a Russian guy
And i'm sitting by the phone just waiting
Standing barefoot on the shore
YOu're on a fiftyfoot yacht just waving
Yeah a fifty foot yacht just waving
Standing in the water
REally should have called her
But then her dad wouldnt want his little daughter
Going out with a guy like me.

anyway thats the first verse and yes its rather sappy but the emotions are something i've felt before. i'm trying to get a website set up with some mp3s of my songs. that one was written about 2 am on a saturday, on my keyboard. i'm taking piano lessons but they dont seem to be coming to much seeing that i keep forgetting to do the exercises the teacher gives me...

MUSIC
i dont think theres anything i like more than music... some bands i like:
- Belle & Sebastian
- Weezer
- The Smiths
- The CuRe
- Further Seems Forever
- Ozma
- Teenage Fanclub
- Of Montreal
- Matthew Sweet
- The Stone Roses
- Svelte

and i could go on and on. most of these bands aren't well known, but it seems the best talent is to be found underground.

its turned cold lately here in brazil... which is grate because i love the cold. i wouldnt describe myself as a depressive person, last year or so ago i definitely would but i think my general mood's taken a swing for the better. although sadness is still one of the more interesting moods:
All that i wanted was to sing the saddest songs
And if you would sing along
I would be happier
-- Belle & Sebastian
