Second time is the charm...?

So, it was too cold for our APFT friday morning. Some would say that this delay is a good thing. Frankly, I have come to believe that there is no such thing as too cold. This isn't for any objective reasoning but for mere experiential reasoning. See, last December, we were to have an APFT on the last day of class, a friday and it was too cold. Clearly, god could not be thwarted! It was wonderfully colder than the previous friday had been. My feet felt like bricks through that two-mile run. I felt good about my 14:47, given the temperature and the fact that I had been smoking too much and working out too little. Still, I ended up with a 274. Not bad, though not an improvement.

January had a warm APFT, though I still fell off on the numbers a bit over all due to a lack of exercising properly over the break.

So, it's February now. Friday's was put off. Will Wednesday be colder, I don't know; I am no psychic. But, I do know that I am now injured and facing the delemna of taking the test injured or having to go on profile and feeling like a gimp for a month. Also, while I know that the air assault slots available were competed for on Friday and Friday only, I am still worried about missing any PT tests for the fear of not qualifying for any other slots that may come available. I also do not want to be considered a whiner.

Seriously, though, I pulled a muscle in my upper right pectoral. I was doing dips as my final exercise in the gym yesterday (after running 2.62, 2 sets on the bench, a set of flat bench dumbels, curls, tricepts...). In the middle of my first set, there was a crack-pop sound and immediate pain in my chest. It became fairly horrendous yesterday but has softened some today. I took care of it yesterday with old-fashion medication (alcohol) as a nonbeliever in fancy medications. Hopefully, after two more days I'll be good to go.
