(no subject)
Yesterday I headed out to go to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. First I would like to express that it was pretty poorly organized, and too damn hot and crowded, and it was pretty hard to get away from the smell of weed. Took about an hour to get there after getting off the exit on the freeway because of traffic, but that wasn't the worst. It took an hour and a half to just get out of the freaking dusty parking lot, and then once we hit the 10 the CHP decided to have construction for about ten miles, and we saw nothing until we finally saw a couple street cleaners. It took a total of 4 hours and 45 minutes to get back, inlcuding a stop at AM/PM. When we finally got to Coachella, we had no idea what bands were playing where because they didnt give us programs, and then they ended up being out of them when we found out there were programs. Also, upon entrance the lady took my water bottle out of my pocket and threw it in the trash because they don't allow water bottles. I am going to write Goldenvoice a letter. They freaking ran out of their expensive bottles of water. Other than that the bands were pretty good.
First we saw beck even though the tent was too crowded for anyone to get in it, so we watched from outside, he was just doing an acoustic act, it was alright. Then we saw the Black keys, they were rockin but we left halfway through there set to get a good spot at the main stage for the pixies, so then saw part of Sparta's set.. ehh. We got pretty good spots considering the mass crowd of 50,000, and the Pixies freaking ruled. Moved up a little bit in between sets for Radiohead and was squished even more. Radiohead also played an awesome set, though towards the end I was so uncomfortable it was hard to enjoy.
That was probably when sparta was playing...Which means that crowd condensed and grew times a million when the pixies and radiohead came on. Overall, it was a good and exciting experience, and great to see like my 2 favorite bands in one day...don't know if I'm gonna do fests anymore though.
Its late and I haven't started my english essay thats due tomorrow.
