Remembering a great person

Terry King passed away on March 31. His funeral was today. I would've gone but I've been under-the-weather as shit for the past week and it's been particularly bad these past couple days, cold sweats and all. Didn't want to be Hackey McGee throughout the whole service.

Anyway, for whatever reason I just feel compelled to put in my obit on this here lj.

I met Terry in high school through GDA (Gonzaga Dramatic Association), he was a sophomore and I was a junior. We were each Montague extras. Terry was a smart guy, but he also had a great sense of humor. His attitude, personality and just being around him made things more fun for me. In entering this new world of theater, Terry's was a voice that said "it's gonna be okay." His love of music led him to start a band called Bananafish, after the Salinger short. During my first semester at UD (Fall of '03), Terry threw a show at his parent's basement. I'd been at college for a whole month and it was the longest I'd ever been away from home. Getting to his place and seeing some of my best friends again couldn't have been more of a relief. Although I lost touch with Terry just like so many other people, we obviously reconnected on facebook. He kept it up with the band and even traveled to Korea for a while. He was back home in Maryland enjoying life when suddenly his time on this earth came to an end.

Rest in Peace, Terry. You made my life a little brighter because of the awesome individual you were. Words can't express how much you'll be missed.
