Writer's Block: Most inspiring teacher

Sep 24, 2009 00:52

I've been blessed by having two really inspiring teachers.  One was my band teacher in High School who was just amazing.  He always asked for us to give our best and encouraged us.  Because of him we won many competitions, and we had fun doing it.  Yea, he was tough on us, but he was also famous for the time he became furious with the drummers and flung one of his shoes at them. :D  He taught me to always give 110% all the time because if it's worth doing it, then it's worth going all out and doing your best.  He also knew the importance of having fun, and he was great at that too.  He was always ready with jokes and laughed a lot.  He helped me audition for a scholarship for college, which I won!  Mr. K you were an amazing teacher!  You taught me how to go all out, and do my best.

The other was my French and AP English teacher.  He was absolutely amazing as a teacher, who demanded everything from his students.  You either did your best or got the hell out of his class.  Most kids hated him.  I loved him because he challenged me.  He forced all of his students to question themselves and others.  He chaperoned a trip to France, and was an amazing teacher who believed in me.  He wrote my recommendation letters for my colleges, and was wonderful at giving advice.  He knew what to say, and he knew how to say it.  He was fun, if a little eccentric, but by far one of my favorite teachers in High School.  Mr. P words cannot describe the ways in which you helped me, through not only high school, but in the way you prepared me for college, and how you prepared me for life.  Your lessons were the most valuable.  Your lessons are the ones I will always remember.  You taught me to strive for perfection.  You taught me that even in failing we can learn from our mistakes.  You taught me to be open-minded, gave me a love of foreign languages, and helped me develop my love for travel.  If it wasn't for you showing me that you have to take risks in life in order to reap the benefit, I would've never had the guts to stand up to my family to go dig in the Middle East, and I never would've met the man of my dreams.  Thank you doesn't even begin to cover it.
