Oh, man. Whisper a prayer for the Sheltonian clan. It's time for me to explain sex to Josiah. He's a very inquisitive 6 year old who has lately been asking all about how babies are made. I remember when I was a boy about his age my dad took me out in the woods and 'splained it to me while we were looking at squirrels and pine-cones and stuff. I remember thinking about the bizarre secret that had just been told to me. It was fine, but I told a neighbor, being really proud of the knowledge I had. The neighbor's family called my mom, who was way embarrassed. Dad then had to explain part 2: you don't discuss this stuff in polite company. Who knew.
I think I'm gonna put parts 1 and 2 together in the first talk. He's in first grade, so it's just a matter of time before he knows or figures it out anyway. I want to be the DAD who can answer his questions, let him hear it right the first time, etc. Baby Rianna will be here in a few months (December) so this is a good time anyway.
