It's a girl!

The sonogram this morning revealed the gender of our child who is scheduled to be born around December 3 of this year. She kind of resembled an alien on the sonogram, but it was still exciting to watch and to find out. Another girl, and an apparently healthy child at that. I already have one boy, Josiah, and one girl, Noelle. Now another girl gets added to the mix.

Jennifer has her heart set on the name "Rianna Beth". I think it's pretty, but have expressed some concerns, because it reminds me of the old Fleetwood Mac song "Rhiannon" about a 17th century witch. And actually, the name is celtic, and as my wife points out, merely means "queen", but I'm struggling a bit with the celtic part. It's still a "pagan" name, with the queen part probably originally meaning queen of the forest nymphs or something. Oh, it'll be okay. I guess I'm gonna be fine with it, but don't blame me if she's born with a pentagram on her forehead or something. My wife has good taste and I won't veto the name (as if I actually have veto power - right), but it'll be hard not to say "I told you so" if the baby's first word is "redrum".

Just kidding - I'm fine with the name - mostly ;)
