I did a wedding yesterday at the Summit Country Club in Owensboro. It was an outside wedding, which is always risky, but the weather was perfect. Aboout a minute after I said, "You may kiss your bride" the sun began to set behind us. It was storybook.
It looks like a buyer will close on our house this Thursday. We have our eye on a house in Owensboro that we are interested in. We are excited. The waiting is the hardest part. Pray for us.
Last month I started watching the Star Wars movies with my son, Josiah, watching them for the first time. We are watching them in chronological order, prequels first. This week we are up to the fourth, which was the original first movie "Star Wars". Joey likes them a lot. Watching them with him, I never realized before how dark some of the themes are. He's like me though, going for the special effects, not paying much attention to the plot.
Yesterday I went out to our storage building in the back yard and dug around to find the plastic tub of maternity clothes for Jennifer. It'a a good thing we kept all that stuff.
So many times I've tried to read the book "The Spiritual Man" by Watchman Nee. It's a large book that is not an easy or quick read. I always end up getting distracted or not having enough time and never have read it alll the way through. This is the year. I'm almost halfway through it and am enjoying the read. It's not the kind of book you can read through on the commode.
This morning my blood sugar was 237. I gotta focus and get on top of this. I can't help but ponder which would be more spiritual: reading through the Watchman Nee book or getting by blood sugar under control for my kids and family so I won't have complications that they will have to go through with me later. I'm gonna continue to work on both.
