Update a couple weeks later
Good news:
I have a new car that both Patti and I digg very much.
Apart from a small flare up of my sciatica I have had no real physical injury from said accident.
Bonus from work and tax refunds hit at the right time to make the insane cost of getting a new car not all that insane.
Bad News:
Still at walmart.com and more than ever convinced that I should leave.
While the new car is nice getting rid of debt was the plan for much of that money.
