The fun of local bands...
So a while back shelley got in touch with a high school friend via the facebook. a couple weeks ago they actually went out to a bar and met for the first time in a long time. she informed shelley of this band that she was friends with called Cookie Mongoloid and that they had a show coming up. So Shelley and I went to see this band Cookie Mongoloid.
Holy Crap!
You've never seen anything like this!
There are a metal band. Mostly chicks. The lead singers is....
wait for it...
Cookie Monster!
or at least a guy wearing a leather jacket and a Cookie Monster mask and gloves. and all there songs are either from Sesame Street or related to Cookie Monster in some way.
They open with "C Is For Cookie" and fucking rock the shit out of that song. Plus they've got like a dozen girls on stage all throwing cookies at the audience. I got pegged several times and Shelley and I both had cookie crumbs in our hair and everywhere.
They even do "One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other."
But the best most rockin' song was "Me Lost Me Cookie In The Mosh Pit."
And let me tell you, for a local band playing in a tiny dive bar, there was a pretty good pit going. And watching people try to mosh on cookie crumbs is hilarious because they all fall a lot.
Anyway, the show was very entertaining and I felt I needed to support such creativity so I bought their CD. It came in a leather case and everything.
