Lung Transplant Evaluation.. Part 1

Jan 21, 2005 19:20

The First entry in this is about the Pre- Evaluation. I left on Wednesday for Gainseville, FL. It only took me and my grandparents two and a half hours to get up there from Bradenton,FL. It was a long drive cause they drive with no music, lol So luckily I had my portable dvd player. Well anyways, We stayed at the Holiday Inn, right down the street from UF. My friend Mitch came over and we went to Leonardos Pizza. It was pretty good pizza for G'ville, lol After that I went back to the hotel and watched Garden State, It was a really good movie. I like those oddball movies that have an artistic veiw to them. Such as Belly, Requiem For a Dream, Boondock Saints, Cruel Intentions, ect ect. Btw I sometimes get off topic, its just the way I write. I write whatever comes to mind. Back to the pre- evaluation. I woke up at 8am Thursday morning and took this shuttle bus over to Shands Hospital. When I got there they weighed me and took my O2 Sats, I was 118lbs and my sats were 95% - which isnt bad. I then went into a room and I met the doctor. He was a nice guy and very informative. They must have asked me 100 questions.. Like the one that got me was "do you smoke?" haha I was like umm HELL NO! But anyways, they were impressed on how much I knew, and I looked like a good candidate for the transplant. So I passed the pre- evaluation. I have to go back to G'ville March 9th till the 11th for the actual Evaluation. They are going to do a shit load of tests those days. Its not going to be fun. Im planning on getting a hotel room for three or four days while Im there. I might need someone to come with me though, in case Im drugged up and need a ride or just someone to talk to and help me out. Ill see what comes up, Ive got some time to plan ahead. Finally I came back thurday afternoon, I felt car sick on the way back cause I was tired and again they didnt play any radio! Thats another reason Im driving up myself or with someone in MY car,lol Thats my Update on this subject until something else comes up... Stay tooned, same CF disease , same LJ journal, same stubborn mike ;)
