i left Austin at about three o'clock on Wednesday afternoon, and pulled into San Diego last night at two a.m.. the bus ride was largely uneventful: i brought a bottle of nyquil and slept a lot, reading and listening to music between naps. the ride between Los Angeles and San Diego was particularly memorable. it was pouring rain in the middle of the night and the bus had multiple leaks. what few passengers there were found dry seats out of the way and either slept or watched the water drip. i sat in the back and talked to a cute homeless girl. it doesn't sound like much, but after more than thirty hours of ass- and mind-numbing monotony, something about that ride was comforting. or maybe that was the nyquil.

since arriving i've done little more than sleep, dressing myself only for the purpose of getting a burrito. i was gonna drive up to Long Beach for a show, but i wasn't able to secure a ride in time. i called a few friends who were either busy or out of town, then resigned myself to a night indoors. i'm a little bummed to be so bored, but i suppose i should enjoy the opportunity to relax. starting tomorrow i expect my time here will be rather busy.
