Signups, and empty threats

Saturday was signup day, so I was at the lanes all day for that. We have a lot of new kids, and pretty much all the old ones are back. Even Miranda is back, so my entertainment for the year is assured. Got a new boy who is going to be a trial for my patience - Linda says he sounds ADHD. He simply cannot concentrate on anything for more than 5 seconds. He's brand new to bowling too. Oh, joy. Seems like a nice kid, but won;t listen without a million comments. None of which have anything to do with the job at hand.

Lauren was back - dad calls her "Stretch" - she grew like three inches over the summer. She's gonna be a tall one. Danny, Dylan, Kalyn, Myka, Katie, Heather, all the faves are back. Myka came in last minute and jumped on my lap. Nice for about 10 seconds, since I;m always glad to see her. Until I got a whiff of her and touched her. Yuk - little kids often smell funny, but not nasty, slimy and damp. She was playing soccer right before. I should have paid more attention before the flying leap she made.

Spent some time with Samantha, who is 5. She was fun, and anxious to please and do well. Beth brought her friend Megan to join her team. How can somone as sweet as Beth have a bratty kid like Megan for a pal? Dylan got beat by his little sister Kayln, so he was ticked. Kalyn tends to listen, Dylan, not so much. Kayln throws a real nice ball for an 8 year old. Dylan wants to muscle the ball. Oh well, they'll both get it.

Oh yeah, the threats. My beloved niece is threatening me with tofu and bean sprouts at her wedding. If she does that, I am going to find a verse from the Necromonicon for the reading, convert the entire assembly to Satanism on the spot, and bend them to my evil and nefarious will. It will be a hoot! Twenty years later, when Jen is showing wedding pics to her kids; "Here's a picture of your great-uncle Mike preparing the ritual sacrifice right before we cut the cake!" So watch it, girl!
