Day out with Thomas the Tank Engine

London is in love with "Choo choo"'s, especially Thomas. Not long ago Jessica told me that she had heard that they had painted a train at the Edaville (http://www.edaville.com/) amusement park to look like Thomas. I researched it, and it was mostly true. Turns out it's a traveling Thomas, luckily one of the weeks it was locally was last weekend.

We got some tickets online and hoped for good weather.

Everyone was excited. When Jessica told the kids that we got tickets and I was going to take them, Tate said that it was something he wanted to do his whole life!

You can see a little bit of the Thomas blue in front of the red engine (the one that really does the work.) Thomas is about centered, in lighter blue - between the red and oranger engines. (Red actually pulls the cars on the train track- the orange is a display).

Avery loves her temp. tattoos! London is holding a paper with a drawing of Thomas on it.

We were early and played around a little prior to our ride with Thomas. London loves Train tables.

We got in line a little earlier and were able to make it to the 1st car. London was sooooooo excited when we saw Thomas all life-size and all pulling into the Train station... He kept pumping his little arm saying "Choo choo".

As soon as the Train started moving, he sat on my lap and enjoyed the ride. So much so, that he fell asleep. He stayed asleep after the ride ended. We were able to get right up near Thomas. London was asleep.

After he woke up we played and played.

London was scared of the ball pit at first and had me pull him right out. But he warmed up in a few minutes and was fearless. The kids helped him and made sure he was Ok.

We got some drinks, finished our map and got our prize and rode one normal old-school amusement park ride. I just can't spin, I get so sick. We all went on the flying elephants, and Tate figured out in line that if you push the button that makes you go up in the air. Avery was scared of that. I wanted those 2 to ride together but she was afraid. Tate was tall enough to ride alone, so I was going to ride with Avery and put London on my lap. No lap kids allowed. I just told Tate and Avery that if they wanted to ride, they would need to do it together. It ended up being OK, they tried up high and Avery loved it (whew!) London and I rode, but I wished we hadn't. I just can't spin or go in circles. I nearly vomited.

We grabbed some lunch and drinks after we left Edaville and decided to look around Carver, Onset, Bourne, Ware - those areas for a little while. I love New England seaside towns/ villages. I kept trying to find a little strip of beach we could walk on, without being in the Onset crowds. We stopped at a small pier/ boat launch to have a look.

I found the town of Ware's resident only beach. I figured we could go out on it, but there was a guard in the parking lot. He was really nice, but said that you need a resident sticker. But there is no guard after 5pm (it was 4:20pm). I thought that was really nice. We didn't end up making it back, but I wanted to.

We had a REALLY good day together. Avery got really hot as we left Edaville and were walking to the car, and she melted down and was yelling at me, but I got her in the van and cooled down and she was fine in a few minutes.

Maybe we can do a bigger longer trip? Disney? I don't know.
