Hawk
Yesterday I was in my office and there was this strange squawking going on outside. We have a lot of wildlife in our yard so I didn't pay much attention to it. Then Anna called me to come up stairs but to move carefully. There was a huge hawk perched on our porch rail. It was making these loud cries, the strange squawks I had been hearing.
Anna went and got her camera and tried to get close enough for a good pic, but that got its attention. It started checking us out, got nervous, and flew away right after she took this pic.
It looked larger in real life, much larger than a large crow. It was the size of a chicken. Its stare when it was looking at us was quite malevolent, a much different feel than the little birds who mostly look afraid.
