Where are you going in Japan? Why are you going to Japan?

Japan's great. It's really nice and trippy a the same time. I just hope you're bringing a lot of money, because it's EXPENSIVE.

See I have yet to see how Tokyo is expensive. I think it is a city where if you want it to be expensive it will be. I havent paid more than 15.00 dollars on any meal and we have eaten quite well. I have had the best sashimi and ramen and udon of my life here for less than what it would cost me in the states. The only thing that seems to add up is rail fare. I think in the this last week we have spent probably 40 to 50 on trains and subways.

I don't see how it's possible to have a sushi meal in Japan for less than 15 bucks. When I was in Fukuoka, you couldn't eat a bowl of noodles for less than 7 bucks. That's expensive for noodles.

Are you staying in a hotel? How much is that?

Have you tried buying a cup of coffee? Have you gone out for drinks?

We\ve had fresh sashimi right off the boat at Tsujiki and oddly enough even better sashimi at a place in Ueno for roughly 10 to 15 bucks.. which is what you would be paying in the states. That\s not expensive. We had 5 dollar coffees at Maid Cafes and a quiet out of the way coffee place- You have not had a coffee until its been made in a beaker with a bunson burner- I have and will pay that price at any place other than a diner in the states. Thats not expensive. My hotel- a mid range business hotel- is about 1,000 for 14 nights.... that's not expensive either ( ... )

Kyoto is fairly expensive. I would say on average everything is 10 to 15 percent more expensive than Tokyo. The trains and subways especially.
