WARNING: CONTAINS GRAPHIC DESCRIPTIONS OF FAUX-VOMIT

Well it's a wrap. For anyone of you with even a passing interest in my movie-making adventures, please be advised that the principal shooting of my collaborative Summer '05 film project entitled "Jack the Vomiter" (JtV) is finished. I mean, finito. Done. It's all over - except of course for the processing, transfer, editing, titling and sound. Heh. Ok, so there's a LOT more work to do before we can premiere it but god damn it, the tough part's over. We have seen the top of the mountain. And it is good.

And OH MY GOD what a mess we made of the location tonight.

JtV is - for the lack of a better way to describe it - a spoof of the Jack the Ripper tale. We shot it on Super 8 film in B&W with intense but cartoonish violence, gore and, yes, lots of vomit. We did period costumes. We had a beautifully fucked up (and free) location to use for as long as we wanted. We had an AMAZING cast who worked for free and who never complained even as we put them through hell (I really can't say enough about our actors, especially our Jack. He was genuinely frightening and absolutely disgusting). My colleagues (some of the most creative, resourceful and dedicated people I have ever had the pleasure to work with) created an amazing selection of body parts and special effects apparati, all of which looked/ performed splendidly. I am blown away buy the performances, the look and what we caught on film. Not to give too much away but we projected vomit over 50 feet. In the final scene I think we all got some on us. I know I did.

We will be in post production now for awhile now and will hopefully eventually get a website up to help pimp this and our last summer's project, "What's in the Barn?" which is awaiting a final edit and sound.

In the meantime, I'll probably try to post some pix I took on the set. Yuk. They're quite gross.

Well, I gotta hit the shower so that I can finally get this damned dried vomit out of my hair.
