I have Shingles.
Shingles are when the chicken pox virus lays dormant in your nerve fibers, and then reawakens from stress, too much sun, allergens, blood pressure etc. Basically they are a bunch of disgusting blisters and welts on one side of my back that are still attached to nerve endings and hence INCREDIBLY PAINFUL. No cure but pain pills and waiting until they scab over.
Until then I'm contagious (I haven't been contagious with anything for DECADES). But if you've had Chicken Pox in your life, you're safe; if you haven't had chicken pox, I can give you chicken pox; but it's impossible for me to give you shingles.
My coworker brought over my work computer so now I am Aly Jabrocki, at work in my home office with no pants. And also I have vicadin now.
