What's the point? No, really.
Flipping through the channels, I encountered Species on Sci-Fi. I ask you, what exactly is the point of showing that movie if you're going to do it on basic cable, with all the nudity and most of the good violence (the kiss scene, specifically) cut out? All you're left with is Ben Kingsley and his team of losers trying to avoid killing and/or fucking each other and occasionally analyzing some slime.
This is right up there with Showgirls on VH1 (have you actually tried to watch that move when the only things to hold your attention are the "plot" and "dialogue"? I tried once, but I blacked out after ten minutes) and Mallrats on whatever network aired that without all the profanity.
