Welcome "Home"

So I've been back in the States for a few days now, bored and lonely and generally not enjoying it one bit. See, I'm back in Ingleside, but Sara and the girls are still living in Nevada. They've hooked me up with a barracks room, which is nice and all, but there's really nothing for me to do. Especially with my computer being dead. There's no phone, no lights, no motorcars, not a single luxury...

...okay, there actually are lights, but no phone, no internet (I'm on one of the public computers at the USO right now), no TV, not even a radio. And my car is back in Nevada, too, so I'm stuck on base and can't even go out to do anything. I've basically got my little DVD player thingy and a couple of books. And I've had to entertain myself solely with those for the last five days, since all my friends around here are busy having sex with their wives and girlfriends. I, on the other hand, read an entire novel in one day (an accomplishment for me, being that I'm not much of a reader the last few years) and have so far watched about two dozen movies, as well as the entire first and second seasons of both Newsradio and Scrubs. So basically, I'm horribly, horribly bored, and running out of movies.

Sara keeps getting on me to call my parents. I just tried them and naturally, I got their voice mails. I'll try again a little later, I guess. It's not like I've got anything else to do.

It's funny, I couldn't wait to get back from that horrible deployment, but lately, I find myself missing it. At least I had people to talk to while I was over there.
