Michael Edward Tomasetti was born on September 13, 1984 in Uptown, Pennsylvania. Born to parents Raymond and Christine he was raised in Wilmington, Delaware where he received his schooling. Showing an aptitude for swimming, he swam for Ashbourne Swim Club from the ages five through seventeen. Showing an interest for art and theater, Michael enrolled in summer camps where he performed shows. He was also given a small role as a "Newsie" in a local theater production, performing with his father on the same stage. Michael took up the piano at age ten and continued throughout high school. He attended Concord High School and participated on the swim team and cultural exchanges to Germany and Spain. From a young age, Michael's father led the family across the USA on summer vacations, long weekends, and national holidays in an attempt to visit every state in America. After graduating high school in 2002, Michael deferred his first year of college for an exchange to Sardinia, Italy. When he returned, he moved to Philadelphia and attended Drexel University. Originally intending to studying Engineering, he switched his major to Undecided than to Film & Video in his sophomore year. Bitten by the travel bug, Michael took time off to travel to Thailand, Mexico, Australia, and Italy during his first three years of college. After getting involved with the theater program at Drexel, Michael decided to transfer universities to study Theater/Acting his junior year.

Wow if I was to die today, that's really all I could say I accomplished in my life. I've gone to school, traveled, and done some acting. I guess I was thinking about death because my Granddad died earlier this week and I went to his funeral and read his obituary. I was thinking about his life and the things he accomplished. There's a quote from Pasolini, an Italian filmmaker that says, "Death does determine life. Once life is finished it acquires a sense; up to that point it has not got a sense; its sense is suspended and therefore ambiguous." In a way I agree, almost as if your life is the raw footage and when you die you can finally begin editing and making sense out of a person. What will my my life shape out to be?
