I love my MAudio Transit. I got it to use on my Powerbook but ended up putting an old "lampshade" iMac near my turntables and am using it instead. I've never tried it on a PC...
I think the Transit is meant as a mobile device, so maybe that's why they used mini instead of RCA. I'm sure there are better options out there, just putting in my vote of confidence for M-Audio. :)

Or get you a Final Scratch box...it works as a standard multi-I/O soundcard now.
Quit usin' them old and busted CD's and get you on the laptop tip. Record straight back into the same program.
Check me out on the cheesy remake/remix yet still quite squelchy fidjit house tip: Spank!

but i checked out gigaport, and...are there no inputs? only outputs? that kinda defeats my purpose of recording mixes...

m-audio has a 4 in / 4 out usb box that looks relatively decent.
of course, if you have no interest in ever dj'ing with the computer, you could opt for a very low-key single stereo in/out option.

i'm not feeling your last link (that skymob listed in comments above) because of the headphone-jack-sized inputs/outputs...
