Check please!

Rollcall of DADA professors, without checking the books and probably with ridiculous misspellings and inaccuracies:

1. Quirrel. Carried Voldemort's face around on the back of his head for a year until he got caught. Currently out of commission, presumed dead.

2. Gilderoy Lockhart: Terminal egoist and best-selling plaigerizer. Tried to off two-thirds of the Trio until he got hit by a memory-wiping spell. Last seen in book 5, attempting to peddle his autograph while still an inpatient at the insane asylum/state hospital. You can't make this stuff up.

3. Remus Lupin, currently on werewolf outreach missions. Was outed at the end of his year and had to retire precipitously. The first competent DADA teacher in Harry's school career.

4. A bit of a twofer here. Thought to be a particularly badass auror, he turned out to be working for the Opposition. A bit too caught up in Cunning Plans, but a surprisingly good teacher. Became Demented before he could be properly interrogated by the Good Guys. Probably drooling quietly in a corner somewhere today.

5. Dolores Jane Umbridge, Ministerial toady and probably the best hissable villain JKR's written to date. Alive, but with a centaur neurosis.

Hope you don't mind me nitpicking (also with no books for reference).

1. Quirrel was posessed by Voldemort, but I think he only started living under Quirrel's turban after Harry had seen him drinking unicorn blood in the forest (notice, he was able to shake Harry's hand in the beginning of the book, but after Voldemort took over his body, Harry's touch burned him). According to Big Al, he died of his injuries after Voldemort left his body.

2. The memory spell that obliviated Lockhart was his own. He used Ron's broken wand to wipe out Harry and Ron's memories and it backfired on him.

3. As you already know, Snape outed Lupin as a werewolf. He also wanted Lupin thrown to the dementors for supposedly helping Sirius get into the castle (which he didn't).

4. Alastor "Mad-eye" Moody was supposed to take over after Lupin was forced to resign, but got ambushed and a death eater disguised as Moody came to teach instead. He had a long and very complicated plot so that he could get Harry out of the school and Voldemort could use Harry to get his body back. The death eater got his sould sucked out through his mouth. While all this was happening, the real Moody spent nine months locked in his own trunk. Sucks to be him.

5. Dolorores still works for the ministry although Fudge promised to fire her. Sending dementors to attack people, making kids write with their own blood and using veritaserum on them apparently isn't enough to get you fired in this world but being a werewolf is. *bitter*

On Quirrell, Voldemort also said he is dead. According to him, Q died when V left his body, from the bragging in the graveyard in GoF.

Loved Snape and the bear. Seems sort of... foreshadowing. And, the anagrams! I've never been good at them, I had no idea LV's moniker was an anagram until it was revealed in book 2. Now, everyone's got ideas based on switching letters from one name to another while I'm just sitting on the sidelines, going, Where do they come up with this stuff???
