Bird!!!

Dear Diary, sir!
I got a bird yesterday, sir! An officer brought her to my door and told me to bring her to a prisoner, sir! I haven't had time to drive to the prisons lately, so I've been taking care of her, sir! She's really pretty and red, sir! And... and she can talk, sir!!! I've never met a talking animal before! She says hello to me and sometimes counts numbers and lately she's been saying "sir" to me a lot, sir! I never thought a talking animal could be so polite, sir! She's amazing! I can talk to her all day and she doesn't yell at me or anything, sir! I think she likes me, sir! She even rides around on my shoulder while I walk around! I wish I could take her to work, sir... but the courthouse says "no animals allowed". I wish it didn't, sir, because I bet everyone would love to meet a real talking bird, sir!
