What a farking day of football. None of which matters really in light of this. I won't post the "after" pictures because there's no need to see a great, egoless and all round hardworking nice guy of a footballer with his shin sticking out the side of his socks with only his skin holding his foot on.
And to David Pleat, Steve Bruce et al who have said "Some wouldn't even call it a yellow card", kindly fuck the fuck off you big fucks. Equally, to everyone who says "he didn't mean it", no, he probably didn't mean to snap his leg but as long as this whole "get amongst 'em, let 'em know you're there, lets kick arsenal out of the game" approach to football continues this will be the result. There's been three truly horrible injuries over the last 2 or 3 years, Alan Smith, Abou Diaby and Eduardo. Two are arsenal players. I really don't think its a coincidence - its become "common knowledge" that arsenal don't like it up 'em, don'tlike it rough - everyone from the BBC MoTD team, to the papers and to the managers have repeated this mantra for years now. Sometimes "roughing them up a bit" goes horrible wrong.
So his seasons over, lets just hope he plays again. Diaby came back from his injury a year later and played, Busst didn't and can barely walk. I sincerely hope its the first for Eddy. I saw him score his first competitive goal for le Arse at the Emirates and a great goal down the away end at Sheffield United in the Carling Cup. Here's hoping we see him in the Red & White again.
