Another late night thoughtful post...

Danielle and Dovey have just left my place after watching Fight Club. (if you haven't seen this film please do, it's amazing!) and after a rather deep conversation on my doorstep they've left me alone with a lot to say. Don't you hate when that happens?

Before I go into other such deep stuff I'll get the trivial stuff out the way. My neck hurts (too much dancing last night), my head's been hurting (too much drink last night) and my stomach hurts (too much food tonight). I'm also *unbelievably* excited that Sin City is out on DVD late September and after watching the joy that is Fight Club have decided to get a Top 10 Best Movies going... 10 - 1

10.Good Morning Vietnam- You gotta love a good Robin Williams film. Plus this one is really good.

9. Beyond the Mat- Yes it's a wrestling documentary. Also award winning. Also very good...

8. Living In Oblivion- Saw this at uni about being a director and all the many things that can go wrong. Very funny if not because I like Steve Buscemi

7. Seven- Ok so I only put this 7th cos it's called Seven but it's definitely top 10 because it's so clever and brilliantly done. Brad Pitt's best performance was in Seven until Fight Club rolled along.

6. Super Size Me- Another documentary, put me off McDonalds for life! VERY funny too. Can't wait to see more Morgan Spurlock films.

5. Pulp Fiction- "That Quentin Guy's" first film in my Top 10. It's almost 3 seperate films that interweave together. Bruce Willis is brilliant and Samuel L. Jackson is simply immense.

4. Rainman- Deserves every accolade ever. Dustin Hoffman should keep the Oscar nice and shiny.

3. Fight Club- Tyler Durden- Best film character ever. Won't even attempt to ruin the twist for anyone. Just watch it.

2. Airplane!- The funniest film I've EVER seen. Leslie Nielsen must be some sort of God. Surely there's no comedy film better? Of course I'm sure, and stop calling me Shirley... ahem, yes.

1. Reservoir Dogs- Yes Ajay "that Quentin Bloke" did this one too! I've decided that Mr Blonde is the coolest man in Movie Land. It would've been Mr White (Harvey Keitel) until I saw him naked in "Bad Lieutenant" (BAD FILM!!!!) But even Mr Keitel's naked backside can't destroy the greatness of his role in Reservoir Dogs. Immense film...

May have to do more top 10 lists. Loads of fun!

Also decided incidentally that when I make my first independent film, it'll probably be a romantic coming of age story with Rachel Bilson as the female lead. I don't think anyone in Hollywood at the moment could fill the shoes against Ms Bilson... might have to play the role myself. Oh the woes of directing!

(HUGS)

PS. Don't look surprised that Dirty Dancing isn't in there Ajay! I prefer the Gary Ostrich commentary version...
