Key had dragged himself out of bed to make breakfast. Usually Jonghyun would wake first then wake everyone else up but he was no longer in the dorm.
“What the fuck happened to my frying pan?” Key's beloved frying pan was no longer on the stove which is where he last left it the night before. It was on the floor in the middle of a puddle-like stain. There where a few nicks and dents but the main damage was to the handle, which was now bent. He carefully picked up the pan and swirled around the mixture of blood and grease left in the pan. The stench made him scrunch his face in disgust.
“Oh yeah, that.” Key remembered that the night before, he went to bed without cleaning leaving Onew's dried blood on the floor staining it a shade of mahogany. He knew he could not clean that without hiring a cleaning crew. He sighed. That would be less money to spend on clothes.
To get it away from his face Key quickly threw the frying pan into the sink with the other dirty dishes. He knew that he would take it out later and throw it away.
The curtains were pulled away from the window in the bedroom to let light in and to wake up the two sleeping boys. Minho and Taemin both covered their heads with their pillows in a feeble attempt to block out the sun's rays. Key did not care for their complaints one bit.
“Get up you two. We're eating out today.” Taemin and Minho both got out of bed and changed without a word. Memories of only a few hours ago flashed back into their heads. Memories of horrific things all three of them would like to forget.
Eyes were purposely adverted from the kitchen as the remaining members of SHINee walked out of the door of their dorm silently. After they had taken a step out of the door frame, the three friends became full of life and talked to each other like nothing had ever happened in that dorm.
They sat down at the a booth in an out of the way diner for their breakfast. They made sure that they were sitting far away from any windows, fangirls, or paparazzi. They had personal business to talk about and no body else could know about it.
“Okay,” Minho cleared his throat and took authority over the meeting as soon as he knew the waitress was out of earshot. “Someone is going to have to cover Onew hyung's schedule today and it can't be me. I have to film an episode of Oh My School but I can help out tomorrow.”
“I'll do it.” Key verbally pushed aside Taemin, not even allowing him time to think about responding. “I have a better poker face than Taemin ah.”
Taemin shrugged his shoulders in agreement. He knew that he would let the secret of Onew's hospitalization out of the bag. “But what you going to say if anyone asks you where he is?”
Silence surrounded the table. The waitress walked up to the booth and placed down their meals. They waited a few seconds after she walked away, watching her every step.
“Umm,” Minho scratched his head. “How about this? His mother is deathly ill and he is going back home for a while to tend to her.”
“I can tell you didn't do well at creative writing in school.” Key gave Minho's leg a little kick underneath the table. “This is what we're going to say.” Key leaned in towards the center of the table and whispered his cover story to the other two boys. They all smirked in agreement. This excuse would work.
“What are we going to do about Jonghyun hyung then?” Taemin backed away from the gathering in the middle of the table and sat back down in the booth's cracked leather seat. It reminded him of the bench Jonghyun sat on at the hospital. “He has to come back to the dorm eventually.”
“Let's take him home tonight.” Key sat back down next to Taemin. Minho followed suit. “He's going to need a shower and a change of clothes eventually.”
Minho raised his hand like an elementary schooler. Key pointed at him to allow him to speak. “I say we get him a therapist.” The other two boys nodded in agreement. Taemin took a large spoonful of his breakfast and shoved it in his mouth. Key took an elegant sip of his tea as Minho sat there quietly.
“He obviously has some sort of problem he can't tell us about.” Key spoke between taking several sips of his early morning tea. “But it's not like he'll actually tell this therapist person anything anyways.” Key took a long and frustrated sip of his tea. He liked to believe that he knew Jonghyun better than anyone else and refused to believe that he would tell any of his secrets to anyone else.
To state it simply, Key loved Jonghyun and he thought that Jonghyun loved him back. They had not had any intimate interactions to prove this statement but Key knew it. He just knew deep down inside that Jonghyun would love him more than any other girl he has ever or will date. Key's thoughts did not consider the possibility of another man involved.
“Well it wouldn't hurt to try,” Taemin finished up the last oversized bite of his meal. “Right?” He tilted his head to the side cutely to get Key to stop being so negative on the matter. The maknae's slight aegyo did nothing to improve the older's outlook on the situation. Key took another terrifying sip of tea.
“Sure, sure,” Key finished his drink and placed the cup on the table. He looked up to smile at the cute, little dongsaeng that sat beside him. “As long as Jonghyun agrees to therapy on his own I will pay for the therapist.” There goes more money out of Key's pocket.
Minho smiled and paid the bill as the three idols left the diner to go their separate ways for the day. “I'll pick him up tonight and save both of you the trouble.” They waved at each other as the fork in their day arrived.
“Thank you Minho, we owe you!” Oh hell yes you do Key, you owe me big time. Not like I actually want to be a part of any of this or have the time in my also busy schedule to do this. I'll be asking for that favor soon enough.
Picking up Jonghyun was just another excuse to get away from Taemin. Minho did not hate the younger in anyway, he just happened to think that he was a bit needy and clingy. Taemin would always try to initiate skin-ship between the two but would never have the guts to go through with it. He would always stop midway and that would annoy Minho. He believed that if one was to do something, they should do all or nothing. There was no grey area.
Minho was not homosexual in anyway. He had always been into older women as long as he could remember. Taemin was just an adorable little kid to the rapper and he intended to keep it that way. Minho assumed that Taemin was just going trough a phase and that he would snap out of it soon and come back to reality.
The three boys went on and acted like nothing was wrong. Their superior acting skills led no one to believe that anything had happened. Taemin went to school a little late but he blamed it on a early morning schedule. Minho filmed an episode of Oh My School and did his best to make sure that he attracted no attention to himself. Key took over Onew's spot as an MC on Sukira with Leeteuk.
Key finished his work first. The driver took him to the hospital so he could talk to Jonghyun. He always enjoyed the little moments of peace with the singer where it was only the two of them.
White corridors surrounded Jonghyun's thoughts. Perhaps a walk around the hospital would make him feel a bit better. Not like it actually helped, but he was glad to get up and move around. This elegant fingers ran through his own brown hair only to be disgusted. The blood was still kept some oily strands stuck together. Jonghyun was aware that he needed a shower.
The singer's mind was blurry. He remembered getting up out of the chair by Onew's bed and sitting back down in the chair a few minutes later, only to fall asleep. He could not recall a single thing that he did to his hyung. The tears. The embrace. The kiss. Jonghyun had forgotten it all.
The ticking and the tocking of the clock filled Onew's dark hospital room as Jonghyun walked back in. It was almost time for his dongsaengs to finish up their schedules for the day and he expected them to come and visit their leader.
Jonghyun leaned back in the chair and stretched out his legs in front of him. He reached above his head then supported the back of his neck with his hands. He was bit bored so he decided to speak to Onew's unresponsive body.
Unbeknownst to Jonghyun, something was stirring inside of Onew.
Jonghyun laughed. He squinted his eyes shut. Onew opened his eyes. His feet were bare. They touched the cold floor. He took Jonghyun's face in his hands and pulled it towards him. Onew crashed his lips onto the younger's. Jonghyun's eyes widened in surprise. He tried to push away. The older was too strong for him. He closed his eyes and accepted the harsh kiss.
Onew allowed Jonghyun to break the kiss for a breath of air. The younger leaned back in his chair fearfully. The older wiped his bottom lip with his thumb and smirked.
“Nice to see you Jjong.”
Jonghyun was too surprised to scold his hyung about the usage of that nickname. Onew was alive. He didn't kill him. He was happy yet scared. The Onew hyung that he once knew had changed from the nonchalant chicken addict to a good kisser. Jonghyun felt like he had lost a good friend.
The leader got back on his hospital bed and lied down on his side, his smirk still directed towards Jonghyun. He let out a mischievous giggle that the younger could feel go down his spine.
“Lee Jinki, your alive!” Key ran through the door way with tears running down his face. He had seen his hyung kiss the man he loved. Key was not a happy man.
A/N : Should I make 2min get together or just focus on OnJong?
This chapter feels really scattered. Maybe because I wrote half of it in the beginning of the week and the rest of it today....
