Sympathy for the Devil

Book review time!

My friend overzen suggested I read a book called Sympathy for the Devil by Holly Lisle. It's a lovely little book about how a nurse's earnest prayer for the salvation of souls in Hell results in nearly 60,000 demons being set loose in South Carolina by God. There are strict rules of course, but nonetheless, demons aren't exactly their favorite residents. The leader of the group, former second-in-command to Lucifer himself, is charged with gaining the soul of the nurse who made the prayer in the first place. He get's more than he bargains for.

Overall, it's a fantastic read. I only spent about 4-6 hours on it. It was fast paced with never a dull moment. Very clever beginning The romance is predictable, but still sweet. The dynamics between Heaven, Hell, and Earth are interesting too. The next two books in the series have different characters from what I can tell in the summary, but I still plan on reading them.
