One's meowing like a cat and the other is ... drawing weird pictures and she can't help it. She's also making some kind of weird noise. [Cough.] I think the portal might've messed up their ability to communicate.

I'm not sure. Noel was in her apartment when she started using the journal, though. I can't uh ... quite ask her where she was.

Seems like an awful pointless trap. Making people unable to communicate's a pain, but I would've expected something more threatening.
