[It starts in the morning with a yelp and a heavy thump as she tries to get out of bed and fails spectacularly. Ahaha, good morning, Straw Hats. Have a bunch of cursing and then a short scream. Followed by more cursing, specifically aimed at scientists in general. Your navigator now looks just a little different. B|

...yeah well. During the day, residents may be accidentally surprised by an out of control mermaid swimming through the river system. SHE'LL GET THE HANG OF THIS, OKAY. She's incredibly fast (it might be wiser to slow down, but noooo) and can occasionally manage swimming in a straight line, but usually she may get your attention by accidentally crashing into the riverbank or, y'know, a bridge support not like she hasn't done that before and in general probably giving a poor name to mermaids everywhere.
She'll have the hang of it by late afternoon. Which is when she surfaces out of the water at the river edge closest to the plaza and attempts to borrow a journal from someone long enough to make the following request:]
