This morning, your everyday post-earthquake-recovery routine is broken by the sound of glass shattering in the bathroom, followed a pale and jittery-looking navigator wrapped in a towel and clutching a change of clothes throwing the door open and stalking straight for her bedroom, slamming the ( Read more... )

[Richard hears that crash and door slam from where he's been trying to tidy up a bit in the living room, so he's going to walk out to the area where the bedrooms are to find out what's going on.]

Is everything all right?

[He'll get a muffled response from behind one of the doors, along with a faint shiff as Nami leans against it.]

Y-yeah. Everything's fine.

[That certainly doesn't sound like everything is fine, but he isn't the sort to pry.]

Would you like me to get a broom?

Ah, no. No, that's okay. [And after a brief pause, she'll shift her weight off the door and start getting dressed.] I'll deal with it, no problem. Thanks, though.

It's the least I can do after you were so kind as to allow me to stay here, even though we'd never met before. I'm truly grateful to you for that.

Hey, can't leave anyone out there. [Now she's starting to sound more natural, if her voice is more muffled as she shucks a shirt on over her head.] Besides, Naoki brought you in. A friend of his is a friend of ours.

[There's a very evident fondness in his voice as he speaks.]

Yes, he's an incredibly kind person. I'm lucky to be able to call him a friend, and even luckier that he feels the same way.

He's a good man. [And after a few more moments, the door gets opened again. Hair still wet, but fully dressed. Smile!] Anyway, we don't know how long it'll take for the buildings to be fixed, so feel free to stay here as long as you need.

[He smiles back, laughing a little.]

Thank you-- I truly appreciate it. Of course, I also don't think Naoki will give me a choice either way. He seems determined to ensure my safety after the events of the other day.

I can't blame him. Something's obviously gone wrong out there - he's just making sure the people he cares about are looked after.

And he's doing a wonderful job of it, although I admit I find myself worrying that he might be trying a bit too hard. I'm not sure I'd be able to drag him back here by myself if he ends up wearing himself out in the process.

If it helps, there's a couple people here keeping a close eye on him, too. If you need help, you can always ask Sanji-kun.

Our chef. The one with the blond hair and the smoking addiction.

Ah yes, I've seen him around, we just haven't introduced ourselves yet. But if he's capable of getting Naoki to behave, perhaps I should do so. That's a rather difficult task; anyone capable of it is worthy of respect.

Haha, really? Sounds like you have trouble keeping track of him.
