UP! Up and away!

I saw the new animated movie UP the other day, and it was really good. It was a mix of funny moment and some a bit more serious/sad...

What really surprised me was the beginning, the story of the old man. Although it started as a fairy tale (marrying his childhood friend) soon enough things started to go bad. I’m not saying this kind of beginning is bad, just very unexpected. Unexpected is good dough, nowadays there are so many movies, that we usually know what’s coming up next.

What I really like was how, in some ways, it became a parody of other movies, without being ridiculous. My favourite part must have been the fight between the two old men, using their false teeth to attack each other, or readying themselves to strike their adversaries until their back got stuck.

One thing really deceived me. I saw the ad for the movie like two weeks before it was going to be realesed, and it was a scene of the movie. Actually the little guy, with his scout “training ” wanted to apply a Band Aid to the old man’s finger (a wound no bigger than a paper cut!!) But he didn’t know how to apply it, the little guy was READING the instructions on the box and having a hard time. (Took him like ten Band Aid to success). Any ways it was really fun to see, and it convinced me to go see the movie, unfortunately this scene never made it to the actual cut. I am kind of made about that, like doing some sort of false publicity, showing me something, taunting me, and not giving it... It better be put in the bonuses of the.

Lastly there is only one thing that I haven’t been able to decide on, whether it really is a “kids” movie. I found that some theme in it might be hard to understand for some younger kids, and they might find the movie a bit boring. At least it’s the impression I got while watching the movie, the young kids didn’t seem really enthusiast...
