first things first! i always forget i am overwhelmingly interested in certain things and then i'm sitting on the internet bored by my own design and i say to myself:

"hey! wake up! you could look up crap about your favorite comic book writer."

so i look up stuff about warren ellis. if you actively read my journal (and not just skim it) you should read "Transmetropolitan." it's a comic book (graphic novel) for people who don't usually read comics. it's set up like an inversely political sarcastic sci fi novel. except, its not geeky. you don't have to know quantum physics or the politics of the southern yak to get half the jokes. just good dark humor set in an obsessed future covering many aspects of modern city life gone bad. enough with the infomercial. check out http://www.warrenellis.com for more Transmetropolitan. and other great comic books that are not your normal run of the mill made for action movie madness.

i also think i raised my iq 10 points by finding http://www.diepunyhumans.com . it's a journal style page written by warren ellis with lots of interesting stuff with many jabs at the goofy weird society we live in. unfortunately there's not a whole lot on this page right now but what there is brings to light some funny bizarre random tid bits of the more interesting side of world culture.

alternatively chad michael wards http://www.digitalapocalypse.com website has now made me a devoted fan to his artwork. he's now in my top 3 artists. another form of art dead on to my tastes. surreal cyberpunk with massive mythological overtones. he has a book coming out called black rust that i may have to check out. you HAVE seen his work, he does a lot of cd covers of the dark/spooky/hardcore like. his normal unprocessed photography is really cool too.

i also figured out that i like tom waits. a lot. and bjork. and massive attack. i always knew this, but lately its like i'm coming to terms with it more. exploring. these three bands always seem to do the odd ball music i'm looking for. like tom waits at times has that (good dark) jazzy feel without being watered down and boring. he also does incredibly rhythmic stuff. bjork does crazy mixed up distorted big beat and also dark down tempo without all the {wickky wicckky} stuff which i get tired of after a while. and massive attack, well no explanation needed. they just always keep things "fresh."

i got my copy of Bruderschaft - Forever the other day and have been listening to it a lot. for the same song remixed 26 times i am surprised i took such a liking to both cds. i would have bought the Limited double cd any way because i am a VNV compleatest. most of the remixes add a different view of the song from the last. not like "head hunter" where they would change the words around a bit add in a couple different sound effects and change the sound of the main synth line and call it a remix to promote their own band. the song itself is emotional and sincere. it is your run of the mill "future pop" but in my opinion its the most grand song in this genre to date. it is a super group after all. BUY A COPY NOW! it goes to a good cause (cancer associations.)

been searching for a lot of streaming industrial videos. surprisingly i found a lot of intrusting stuff. more so surprising http://rollingstone.com has some stuff of interest (aslan faction, nitzer ebb, ohgr.) thinking about putting a completed list when i get my domain up and running.

the most exciting thing now is that the in-laws are here! its been a lot of fun entertaining them. they are great people. i couldn't have asked for better people to be stuck with for the rest of my life. we've been house hunting with them and eating out a lot. jane and i bought them dinner at a really nice (rather expensive) italian restaurant for there anniversary. they we're stunned. this is the first time jane has been able to do something like that for here parents so it was really cool. they appreciated it a lot.

we took a tour of janes "shop" today and got to go on a P3 orion plane. it was amazing. it's an average sized propeller driven plane. about the size of smaller commercial planes. next to it, and inside it though its amazing! got to check out all the electronics and what not which is what she worked on. it didn't click with me until i saw where she worked how cool her job is. i mean, the stuff just LOOKS complex and crazy much less that's what she works with.

i need to start posting twice a week to cut these posts in half. been lazy and my writing has been bugging me. i need to split this into three journals. one for personal, one for philosophy and random writings, and one for poetry. which means i need to get a pay journal. however, i have money going towards way to much other stuff at the moment.

that's enough from me. more running around with the in-laws tomorrow to look at amazing houses and be jealous but thankful i have my own little shelter in the world.

your slipping when you struggle, it's not until you let go that you are falling.
