we've all changed, some more than others

It's natural to grow up, and mature, but certain individuals go through the process quick, while others spend most of their lives trying to find themselves. My friends, and I are gracefully going through the process. With the experiences of last year being merely a fantasy to the average person, we were given a head start in the game of life. As the year came to a close, I concluded that everyone was on the same page. How horribly wrong I was. Meaningless issues tore us apart, leaving everyone bewilder. Future barbecue's faded away, as our friendship became worthless. Hanging out with the "gang" was reduced to thursday nights at Reseda and Devonshire. This too was abruptly halted by quarrels among the homies, climaxing in Valencia. Sides were taken, as the lines were drawn. With the introduction of girl friends the past was forgotten, a secret everyone wished they could forget. With broken promises, and busy schedules, friends were lost. Others were found, who infected the minds of the innocent, and corrupted honest character, reverting some back to more childish ways. Now when we happen to brush shoulders, I don't recognize the person I'm talking to. After the awkward silence we slap hands, and you speed off. Everything in this world is changing, some for the better, and others for the worst. You don't need a reason to hang out, but your girlfriend being on vacation is not the right reason.(This wasn't written about you anyways.)
