Work.
It's Tuesday morning and I am already feeling pretty shattered!!
Been working with students in the high school today. I was doing some support work in Home Economics with the First years! They are all fresh and new from Primary School, so it's difficult to distinguish which whichs are going to need the most support in behaviour. However, the ones with dyslexia and ADHD have been pointed out to me and I have been working alongside them very closely. It's challenging as these guy's do not know their alphabet well, so trying to teach them how to pronounce words and to understand the text is difficult, but we get by! I feel very sorry for these children, but they are keen to learn and this is overly encouraging for me and the other teachers!
Today, I am going back into the High School to lead an after school club called 'Thru the Roof' I am bringing Singstar and Buzz to the group and we are having a God slot for 10 minutes at the end, which should go down pretty well. They seem to enjoy these slots. I am using a DVD by 'The Tribe' at the moment called 'Fresh'. It explores different issues which young people face like Drugs, Sex before Marriage, Relationships with parents, Peers, etc. We are looking at Creativity today...they do a Talk on the DVD and usually a song and a dance video to round off the topic at the end. So this should be an easier group today.
Very tired though! I have a glass of Coke (ZERO) next to me, which is infact very nice indeed!
